Computers and laptops have a small battery inside them, much like a watch battery, designed to keep the time of the system. After 3-5 years, that battery will get so used up that it can not keep the charge while the computer is switched off (and often disconnected from the mains).
When the time is not set accurately, certificates on website will struggle, so things like on demand video websites or secure websites may be alarmed by your computer suggesting it is 10+ years in the past.
The battery is usually very cheap, under £5 and if you are unsure of how to replace this battery, we would be more than happy to assist.
If you can make contact, arrange a time, we can normally change this while you wait, and takes no more than 15 minutes.
